Real Madrid vs Barcelona

Real Madrid vs Barcelona | El Clasico is here! Real Madrid and Barcelona meet at the Santiago Bernabéu in the early kickoff on Saturday, and this ought to be an extremely fun one.

This has been an abnormal season for the two goliaths of European football: Barça are yet to lose a diversion since early August yet have not been the most energizing group to watch, while Madrid have been uncontrollably conflicting, not performing great in most defining moments and regularly dropping focuses to groups that are presently battling transfer in La Liga.Real Madrid vs Barcelona

But as soon as the game starts at the Bernabéu, inconsistent seasons and unexciting performances go completely out the window and the only thing that matters is the 90 minutes. This game is full of superstars and the title race could be either almost decided with a Barça win or wide open with a Madrid victory.

This will be fun to watch, but also nerve-wracking. It’s the biggest club match in world football, and it’s one you just can’t miss.

TEAM NEWS

The injuries are going away, which is great news, but Paco Alcácer, Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembélé are still not available for this one through physical problems. They should all be back around January, but they’ll miss the Clasico which is bad news since Umtiti and Alcácer have played amazing and Dembélé is the X-factor.Real Madrid vs Barcelona

There’s nothing we can do about the injuries, so let’s celebrate the fact we have three really good midfielders for once: Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta and Paulinho (!!!!!!!!!!) are in great form at the moment, and Ivan Rakitic had a very encouraging performance against Deportivo La Coruña. Winning the midfield battle is a major factor in El Clasico matches, and Barça’s midfield is looking quite good for the first time in quite a while.Real Madrid vs Barcelona

The defense has been strong all season, and although Nélson Semedo is not getting as many minutes as he should, Sergi Roberto has played well lately. Thomas Vermaelen has been a revelation and really deserves to start alongside Gerard Piqué, although Ernesto Valverde could go with the experience of Javier Mascherano. It would be unfair to Vermaelen, though, so let’s hope he gets to start. Who would have thought we’d be saying THAT in December 2017!

Patriots vs Steelers | This is the diversion we’ve been anticipating for quite a long time as the Patriots (10-3) will meet the Steelers (11-2) in Pittsburgh on Sunday evening. Never again do the groups have a similar record, as the Patriots tumbled to the Dolphins on Monday, yet the amusement still has similar ramifications.

The victor will no doubt be the No. 1 seed in the AFC. On the off chance that the Steelers win, they would kill the Patriots from thought, as they would be up two diversions with two amusements to play and hold the sudden death round. The Jaguars could sneak up on Pittsburgh, however it would take a considerable measure for that to happen. On the off chance that the Patriots win and win in Weeks 16 and 17, they would be the No. 1 seed.Patriots vs Steelers

It is a very important game for the Patriots as with a loss they could potentially be the No. 3 seed and play on wild card weekend. This would be the case if the Jaguars win out, regardless of what the Patriots do.

This is one of the biggest regular-season games in the Bill Belichick era with so much at stake.

3 keys to the game

Third down and red-zone play Patriots vs Steelers

This game will be won in these two areas. The four-point plays in the red zone that turn touchdowns into field goals likely will be the difference in the game. Offensively on third down, the Steelers are sixth (42.1 percent), while the Patriots are eighth (41.9), so very, very close. Defensively, the Steelers are eighth (36.2), while the Patriots are 16th (39.3), so advantage Steelers. Offensively in the red zone, the Patriots are scoring touchdowns 57.1 percent of the time (13th), while the Steelers are scoring touchdowns 48 percent of the time (25th), so advantage Patriots. Defensively in the red zone, the Patriots are seventh, allowing touchdowns 47.4 percent of the time, while the Steelers are 23rd, allowing touchdowns 58 percent of the time, so advantage Patriots. These stats give the Patriots the edge, but the only thing that matters is what happens on the field Sunday.

Eliminate big plays

Patriots vs Steelers | It’s impossible to completely defend an offense with Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, so the biggest thing will be not allowing any big plays. It would appear the Patriots will have the majority of their focus on Brown with either Stephon Gilmore and Malcolm Butler on him with help over the top and take their chances with Bell. They would hope to set up third-and-short and win some of those battles. If the Patriots allow a number of big plays, they will be in a whole lot of trouble.

Ride Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have dominated the Steelers of late and the Patriots need this to continue. In 10 games against Pittsburgh since 2007, Brady is completing 72 percent of his passes for 2,273 yards with 22 touchdowns and no interceptions for a quarterback rating of 127.5. Then for Gronkowski, in five career games he’s caught 30 passes on 36 targets (83.3 percent) for 496 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s averaging an insane 99.2 yards per game, and two of his three career three-touchdown games have come against Pittsburgh.Patriots vs Steelers

Fun facts

1. Brady is 10-2 against Steelers in his career with a 115.1 quarterback rating, which is the highest against any team for any quarterback since 1991 (min. 10 starts).

2. The Steelers are 5-0 in games decided by three or fewer points in 2017 and 7-1 in games decided by seven or fewer points.

3. Bell has had his three highest receiving games of the year in the last three weeks (77 yards, 106 yards, 88 yards).

4. In the last two seasons when scoring 18 points or more (including the playoffs), the Steelers are 24-1.

5. With 76 yards receiving, Brandin Cooks would reach 1,000 for the season and become the 12th Patriots player in franchise history to reach that mark.

Prediction

Steelers 30, Patriots 27

This wasn’t an easy one to pick, and we wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Patriots pull this one out on the road, but the Steelers just have too many weapons on offense. New England’s defense is banged up and may not have enough to stop the Steelers offense. It is also worth noting Pittsburgh hasn’t had Roethisberger, Brown and Bell for an entire game against New England in quite some time. The Patriots’ best chance of winning is not allowing many big plays, and winning the battle on third down and in the red zone.

Bears vs Lions Live

Bears vs Lions Live

Bears vs Lions LiveTrubisky train: Rookie Mitch Trubisky had his best performance Sunday against the Bengals, completing 25 of 32 passes for 272 yards, a touchdown pass and a touchdown run. Can the Bears quarterback take another leap forward against the Lions? He was good enough in the teams’ last meeting Nov. 19 to help set up a potential tying field goal in the final minute, which former Bears kicker Connor Barth missed in a 27-24 loss. “You can look at the wins and losses, but I think there is different growth as far as chemistry and just the positive vibe around the building, how the attitude is in the locker room,” Trubisky said.

Hit the ground running: The Bears had one of their better rushing games in their Nov. 19 loss to the Lions, piling up 222 yards, including 125 from Jordan Howard. The two games that followed were two of their worst on offense, but they bounced back for a season-high 232 rushing yards Sunday. Can Howard and Tarik Cohen build on that against a Lions defense that has allowed five straight 100-plus rushing yard games? “They’re quick, they’re fast, they’re strong. It’s kind of like thunder and lighting, those two combinations they give you. … We’ve just have to make sure we tackle well,” Lions coach Jim Caldwell said.

Bears vs Lions Live

D-lightful: With multiple starters out injured, the Bears still held the Bengals to one touchdown and 234 yards of offense Sunday. They look to be healthier this week, with outside linebacker Pernell McPhee, nose tackle Eddie Goldman and safety Adrian Amos all practicing in a limited capacity. Inside linebacker Danny Trevathan, who missed the last meeting with the Lions with an injury, said the Bears “want to be the Grinch this year” to teams with playoff hopes. “The defense has been handling business, and we just have to keep that attitude,” Trevathan said. “We just have to stay within ourselves and stay getting better every game.”

North cellar: The Bears have yet to win a game against an NFC North opponent this year, going 0-4. In coach John Fox’s tenure with the Bears, they have gone 3-13 in their division. The 7-6 Lions still are playing with long shot hopes of a playoff berth, so they have more on the line than the pride and development the Bears are playing for. “It doesn’t matter what color jersey they have or what division they’re from, you try to create a game plan and execute a game plan to the best you can,” Fox said. “We had a close game with them here in our place, and I think our guys are ready to go in there.”

Broncos vs Colts

Broncos vs Colts Live | It’s too terrible that the Colts and Broncos are playing in an arch on Thursday on the grounds that the main thing that may make this amusement all the more intriguing is another snow squall. Both as of now dispensed with from postseason dispute, Denver and Indy have joined 2-15 SU and 4-13 ATS records since October 15 – this one wasn’t much enjoyable to incapacitate.

Things being what they are, is there a wagered that bodes well for this total clunker of a prime-time diversion? I suspect as much, yet you’re not going to like it.Broncos vs Colts

Indy opened the challenge as a 2.5-point underdog and keeping in mind that that is not a terrible yell, it’s the UNDER that is calling my name with two of the most noticeably bad offenses in the NFL clashing on Thursday.

2017 has been definitely not a decent year for quarterbacks and Trevor Siemian and Jacoby Brissett have been no special cases – they’ve been add up to bums. The previous has been a regular of the soup kitchen when he’s played out and about this season with a 57.8 passer rating far from Mile High. For the individuals who don’t comprehend what that implies – it’s extremely terrible.

It’s very little better on the blue side of this matchup of horses with Brissett sitting simply behind Blake Bortles in the rankings for yards per endeavor. Indy has found the middle value of only 14 focuses over its five-amusement UNDER streak and that is probably not going to enhance against a Broncos’ ball-halting unit that still makes a decent showing with regards to.

A respectable open door for live-wagering, however, that could make this matchup watchable from an extremely cruel viewpoint is picking a few spots to take each group to go three-and-out. TNF could be a punter’s grandstand and I’d jump at the chance to benefit from that.Broncos vs Colts

Packers vs Browns

Packers vs Browns | The Green Bay Packers haven’t completely folded during the seven-game absence of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is due back next week. The Cleveland Browns have had literally nothing go right during a miserable 0-12 season. A hive mind of about 30 NFL fans predicts the Packers will win Sunday.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The freshest new time in Cleveland Browns football starts Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium against the Green Bay Packers. The Browns, obviously, are as yet looking for their first win of the 2017 season. The Packers, in the interim, come in at 6-6, still in the playoff chase and with quarterback Aaron Rodgers near a conceivable return.Packers vs Browns

Packers vs Browns

The Packers are definitely ready for Rodgers to return, considering backup Brett Hundley most recently passed for just 84 yards again the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game Green Bay somehow won. The winless Browns should be about as close to a guaranteed win as it gets, as they have lost their past five games by at least two scores. But maybe, just maybe, the Browns are overdue for a little good luck, and there are fewer better ways to manufacture some good fortune than playing a backup quarterback who, though not terrible has pretty ably demonstrated he is indeed a backup Packers vs Browns

To predict the result of this and other games, Unanimous A.I. used what’s known as swarm intelligence to forecast the week’s slate. About 30 NFL fans worked together as a hive mind to make picks. As you can see in the animation below, each participant controlled a little golden magnet and used it to drag the puck toward the answer they thought was the most likely outcome. As the users saw the puck move toward a particular outcome, it triggers a psychological response. They readjust their decision-making, building toward a consensus. Here’s Unanimous A.I. founder Louis Rosenberg explaining swarm intelligence at a recent TEDx Talk.

Falcons vs Saints Live

KICKOFF:  Falcons vs Saints Live – Thursday, 8:25 p.m. ET, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, TV: NBC, NFLN, Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth, Heather Cox (field columnist.

Arrangement HISTORY: 96th normal season meeting. Hawks lead arrangement, 50-45. Atlanta has won the last two gatherings, including the last one, a 38-32 triumph in the Georgia Dome in the 2016 standard season finale. The Falcons beat the Saints, 27-20, in a NFC special case playoff diversion in 1991, and the Saints beat the Falcons, 23-3, in 2006 when the Superdome revived a year after Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans is 16-8 since Sean Payton assumed control as head mentor.

KEYS TO THE GAME: This is a major class duel, as usual, and each group is attempting to set up itself as a honest to goodness playoff powerhouse down the extend. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees have confronted one other 17 times. Brees is 10-7 in those matchups. The Falcons beat the Saints twice last season. The Saints won twice in 2015 and the Falcons won twice in 2014.Falcons vs Saints Live

It’s usually a high-scoring affair. Last season, the Falcons won 45-32 in New Orleans and 38-32 in Atlanta. “Drew is unbelievable,” Ryan said. “He’s been so consistent for the 10 years that I’ve been here.”

The Saints are now relying more on running backs Mark Ingram II and rookie Alvin Kamara. Ingram and Kamara, Kamara and Ingram. The one-two punch of the Saints’ running backs has been their biggest strength this season and they will look to utilize both in the running game and the passing game, assuming Ingram’s sore toe doesn’t sideline him. Don’t be surprised if the defense plays a lot of zone to avoid the big play and force the Falcons to be patient on offense.

However, Brees is still lethal. He has completed 291-of-407 passes for 3,298 yards with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has a passer rating of 104.2.Falcons vs Saints Live

Falcons vs Saints Live

The Falcons’ offense must get back on track in this game. They did not score a touchdown for the first time in 30 games against Minnesota and Ryan was held to 173 yards passing, his lowest total since throwing for 172 against Seattle in 2013. The Saints’ defense is led by defensive end Cameron Jordan, who has 10 sacks. Also, Sheldon Rankins, who plays next to Jordan, is having a fine season. Jordan and Rankins will go against Falcons right tackle Ryan Schraeder and right guard Wes Schweitzer.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH:

–Saints CBs vs. Falcons WRs. The Falcons have one of the most explosive receiving corps in the NFL and the Saints have been beaten up at cornerback. Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Taylor Gabriel will test the corners, especially if top cover man Marshon Lattimore is unable to return after a two-game absence due to an ankle injury.Falcons vs Saints Live

–Saints WRs vs. Falcons DBs. Historically, Saints QB Drew Brees has had a lot of success against the Falcons’ secondary, but other than Michael Thomas, the Saints’ receivers have not been consistently effective this season. Brees will have to have some success against the No. 7 pass defense if New Orleans is going to be balanced on offense.

–Saints LBs vs. Falcons RBs. Falcons RBs Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman have been dangerous dual threats, just like Mark Ingram II and Alvin Kamara, and New Orleans no longer has its fastest linebacker since Alex Anzalone went on injured reserve.

–Saints RB Alvin Kamara vs. Falcons LBs De’Vondre Campbell and Duke Riley. These linebackers play well in space, but Kamara is a tough target. Known nominally as a third-round pick, this sensational rookie rushed for 606 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 59 passes for 614 yards and four touchdowns. Campbell is third on the team in tackles with 74. Riley, who is faster, could get some action in order to play against the Saints’ screens.Falcons vs Saints Live

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Falcons guard Ben Garland. He lost the battle for the starting right guard spot to Wes Schweitzer in the exhibition season. He will make his first NFL start against the Saints and has played in 36 games on the offensive and defensive lines. A key to the Saints’ success will be whether they can disrupt Matt Ryan’s timing in the Falcons’ passing game. Defensive end Cameron Jordan has 10 sacks and seven passes defensed, and he is the Saints defender most capable of bothering Ryan. In addition to sacks and getting his hands on passes, Jordan can be effective by pressuring Ryan.

FAST FACTS: Saints QB Drew Brees has 6,127 career completions and surpassed Peyton Manning (6,125) for 2nd most all-time. He aims for seventh consecutive game against Atlanta with at least 300 yards passing. RB Mark Ingram II leads NFL with 9 TDs rushing. RB Alvin Kamara is third rookie in NFL history with at least 600 yards rushing (606) and 600 yards receiving (614). He ranks 4th in NFL with 1,220 yards from scrimmage. DE Cameron Jordan is one of three in NFL with at least 10 sacks (10) and 50 tackles (52). Vonn Bell is only NFL safety with at least 60 tackles ((61) and three sacks (3.5) … Atlanta QB Matt Ryan has 1,970 yards passing (328.3 per game), 14 TDs and 1 INT for 115.4 rating in last six meetings with Saints. WR Julio Jones leads NFC with 1,063 yards receiving. LB Vic Beasley Jr. had sack in last game vs. NO. LB Deion Jones has 15 tackles, 5 PD & 90-yard INT-TD in 2 career games vs. NO. Has 36 tackles (9 per game) in past 4 vs. division. S Keanu Neal had FF in last meeting. Jones (96) & Neal (91) are 1 of 3 pairs of teammates in NFL with 90+ tackles each. Rookie DE Takkarist McKinley aims for 4th in row with sack. Tied for 1st among NFC rookies with 5 sacks.

PREDICTION: A classic flip-a-coin game, but the Falcons will further tighten things up heading down the home stretch.

Ashes 2017 2nd Test

Ashes 2017 2nd Test | A pink ball? Fiery remains cricket around evening time, under lights? What might Ivo Bligh and Billy Murdoch think? The inaugural Ashes chiefs would most likely be similarly as confused by this advancement as the possibility of batsmen wearing head protectors, or players inspecting umpiring choices, or limit ropes, or secured pitches. Or, then again, might we venture to say it, stump receivers. The diversion moves with the circumstances. In any case, this Adelaide Test represents a point of reference: it will be the 330th Ashes Test and the principal played as a day-night issue. The primary, you think, of numerous.

Australia enter this match with a 1-0 arrangement lead after their 10-wicket win in Brisbane, and the groups have conveyed to Adelaide a level of asperity that emerged from that Gabba Test. The England camp specifically appears to have held some severity from the Jonny Bairstow head-butt adventure. James Anderson has compared the Australians to spooks for the route in which they sledged Bairstow about the occurrence, and commander Joe Root was miserable with the way in which his partner Steven Smith snickered all through a question and answer session about the issue. Smith, in answer, said his giggling was at his partner Cameron Bancroft, not to England’s detriment, and proposed that Anderson himself was “one of the greatest sledgers in the diversion”. But this is all diversion from the job that needs to be done.

It is technically possible for England to lose in Adelaide and still retain the Ashes, but it would take a monumental turnaround to achieve that from 0-2 down. In terms of pink-ball experience, England have a disadvantage, having played their first day-night Test in August this year against West Indies – albeit for an innings victory. This will be Australia’s third consecutive day-night Test at Adelaide Oval, and they have played one in Brisbane as well. Australia have won them all. Ashes 2017 2nd Test

The swinging pink ball will be a challenge for both sides, but perhaps England’s biggest task is to find a way to negate the impact of Smith with the bat. His dogged century at the Gabba was the defining contribution of the match, and he showed remarkable patience to not become frustrated by the defensive fields set for him from early in his innings. “Take Steve Smith’s innings out of it and they were 160 all out in the first innings,” Root observed. Of course, remove any team’s highest scorer and their total will look significantly inferior, but Root’s point – that few other Australian batsmen contributed anything of substance – is a valid one. If England get Smith cheaply, they will go a long way towards turning their fortunes around.Ashes 2017 2nd Test

In the spotlight

Last year’s Adelaide Test was a watershed moment for Australia, after their Hobart thrashing at the hands of South Africa led to a major selection overhaul. Three debutants were included for the Adelaide Test, plus two recalled players. Of those five, Peter Handscomb is the only one still holding on to his place in the Test side a year later. Handscomb has outlasted Nic Maddinson, Matt Renshaw, Matthew Wade and Jackson Bird, and still finds himself averaging more than 50 in Test cricket. He also holds the distinction of having played more first-class games with a pink ball under lights than anyone in the world, averaging 54.64 from his 10 games. Handscomb will be keen to celebrate a year in the Test side with a contribution in Adelaide, after he was trapped lbw for 14 playing deep in his crease at the Gabba.

Ashes 2017 2nd Test

Who else but Jonny Bairstow? After the Brisbane Test, which ended with Bairstow addressing the media about his was-it-a-headbutt-or-wasn’t-it, there can be no escaping the fact that Bairstow will be under the microscope in Adelaide. The Australians felt that their sledging of him worked at the Gabba, where he fell to an ill-judged shot at a key time, but at his best Bairstow has the potential to be a dominant force in the series. Worldwide, only Joe Root scored more Test runs than Bairstow in 2016, and England will be hoping their wicketkeeper can overcome the mental hurdle created by this saga.

Team news

Australia have confirmed an unchanged XI, with Chadd Sayers missing out on a home Test debut.

Australia: 1 Cameron Bancroft, 2 David Warner, 3 Usman Khawaja, 4 Steven Smith (capt), 5 Peter Handscomb, 6 Shaun Marsh, 7 Tim Paine (wk), 8 Mitchell Starc, 9 Pat Cummins, 10 Josh Hazlewood, 11 Nathan Lyon.

England have hedged their bets slightly with a 12-man squad, with Craig Overton entering the equation to challenge Jake Ball for a seam-bowling berth. There’s no room for the legspinner Mason Crane, despite concerns over Moeen Ali’s spinning finger. Moeen will play, even if his bowling load is reduced, with Root also able to contribute some of his part-time offspin.

England (probable): 1 Alastair Cook, 2 Mark Stoneman, 3 James Vince, 4 Joe Root (capt), 5 Dawid Malan, 6 Moeen Ali, 7 Jonny Bairstow (wk), 8 Chris Woakes, 9 Jake Ball, 10 Stuart Broad 11 James Anderson
